Property Team

The property team is responsible for:

• the care of Church property: the Church, Manse, halls and adjacent grounds
• the upkeep and use of these buildings and for reporting annually to the Ardrossan Presbytery on work done and the state of the buildings
• the care of the Church and Halls including furnishings and decoration and the use of these by Church organisations and letting to outside organisations.
• access, health and safety standards

 

This includes:

• overseeing heating for the Sanctuary and halls
• organising a monthly hall use rota and communicating with organisations and the hire of the hall and Church (the latter in conjunction with the Minister)
• preparing information for the sending out of invoices for the hire of the hall from the Office
• overseeing the cleaning and repair of the halls and the Church

 

Recent Development

Since the union of the former Trinity Church and High Kirk, items have been transferred to the present Parish Church and some items from both the former buildings have been disposed of.

The small communion table from the Trinity building has been donated for use of a new church in Mzuzu in northern Malawi. It can be seen packed and ready for transport on the left of the van.

We have also donated plastic chairs (some can be seen in the bottom left corner).

The font from the Trinity Church has been donated to the Church of Scotland at Strathlachlan.  Here it is in transit and carefully protected in the back of the van.

This Communion table is also in transit to Malawi!

The main section of the WW1 window from the Trinity Church has been fitted into an LED back-lit frame in the Parish Church porch.  The base strip has been fitted into an LED back-lit frame on the wall in the memorial aisle.

This bookcase has been made from wood from the pews of the Trinity Church.

This display table has been made from wood from the front panels around the organ and ‘bishop’s pew’ of the Trinity Church.

A list of readers and Ministers of the Parish Church and High Kirk in this building since the Reformation from (1574) until the union with Trinity Church in 2011.

The information from these lists of ministers, (of the Churches which originally united to form the Trinity Church and the then Trinity Church until the union which created Beith Parish Church) will be displayed on a chart similar to that above.

The brown wooden choir chairs in the Sanctuary have been replaced by modern chairs with red upholstery, kindly donated; and a number of blue chairs from the Trinity Church have been recovered to match and are in the recently altered left side of the church to form a memorial aisle.

Pews have been removed from the side and front of the Church.

This WW2 window has been brought up to the memorial aisle in the Parish Church.

These memorial boards from the former Trinity Church are now in the memorial aisle.

The ‘Mary’ window has also been fitted into the Parish Church
